10-gallon Tank: New Light 11/20/14

Replaced the Resun lamp this afternoon with a Fluval Eco Bright (18″-24″) LED strip light. A much better fit all around. The yellow tinge from the bulb in the Resun (see the photo in the last post) was hard to take. Glad I made this choice. The light is bright but natural, like daylight. The low profile is also cool. The lamp is very well engineered, solid aluminum. After being on for over 9 hours, it’s barely warm to the touch. So it’s efficient. Also built up the coral mound. So far, I really like the undergravel filtering system. It opens up the space taken by the sponge filter and gives the tank a cleaner look.
