A dozen opae’ula zoeae in 10-gallon west-facing tank. A few berried females, too.

Hi, Ann. I noticed the zoeae after removing the Aqualifter system and reverting back to the standard UGF setup and cleaning the glass. As you can see, their color is not bright red. I’m assuming that the filtration and tank positioning had something to do with it. The glass facing the west window was the narrow side. I now have the wide side toward the window to allow for more sun. But the evidence of heavy breeding makes me wonder whether I should have stayed with the previous setup. I’ll be activating the UGF air pump intermittently instead of leaving it on 24/7.
I can understand your point. It’s definitely something to think about. I guess the heavy breeding means good health. Your experimentation certainly brings an abundance of knowledge to keeping these little gems healthy!
